Maui has several unique climates and each area of the island has different weather. Though it is quite uncommon to have rain all day here in Maui, there are still some great things to see and do in between the raindrops and we wanted to share some fun things for you to do if it is raining:
Aquarium: Check out various marine life found in Hawai’i including fish, corals, rays, and even sharks! Located at the Ma’alaea Harbor, this aquarium is the states largest aquarium and provides guests with an outstanding way to see marine life up close.
Sugar Cane Museum: For those guests looking to learn more about the culture of Maui, we would highly recommend visiting the museum of Sugar Cane. This crop plays a huge role in our island’s culture and day to day life. Located in Kahului, this small museum will certainly be a great for guests who enjoy learning about cultures an the influences they have on the surrounding population.
Restaurants: Though some of Maui’s best restaurants have indoor / outdoor seating, it is always nice to visit local restaurants and have a nice lunch. Regardless if you are staying in South Maui or in West Maui, there are many great options to experience while here in Maui. Many restaurants will feature local items (some with a modern twist on Hawaiian cuisine). Check out our custom Restaurant Guide some some of our favorite places to dine around Maui.
Spa Day: Relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy at one of Maui’s spa. Did you know that there are both world class spa’s as as well excellent day spa’s here in Maui? Though most guests enjoy have the luxury resort spa day, there are other guests who enjoy simple and enjoyable services found at a day spa. One of our favorite treatments is a Lomi Lomi Massage.
Theater / Performance: Did you know that Maui has a Theater that features two amazing shows? For those guests looking to experience the culture of the island, there is a regular show that will demonstrate the the evolution of the culture on Maui through performance. The other show they offer is for those looking for an entertaining performance by “Elvis”. This hit show is perfect for rainy days here on Maui. Please contact us for further information on show dates and times.
Shopping: Though Maui is not known for it’s shopping as found in O’ahu (Waikiki), there are still places to enjoy here on Maui. Additionally located inside of Maui’s largest Mall (Queen Kaahumanu Center) is a movie theater. Guests will enjoy shopping and dining while staying out of the rain.
Activities: For those guests who still wish to head out into the rain for a little fun, don’t miss out on fun rainy day activities such as ziplines or ATV rides. These fun activities will often still be doing even if it is raining (in most cases). Contact Maui Activity Concierge TODAY to see if there is still availability.
